How to Submit File Revisions

File Revisions

If you have an updated file that needs to process, uploading a revision is fast and simple. Click on the title of your book; this takes you to your Title Details page. On the right-hand side, you will see a button that says “Upload New File.”

Click this button and then submit your new file (remember to also press the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page and pay the $40.00 per file revision fee to ensure we receive your file for processing).

The turn-around-time for interior file review is usually one business day, and covers typically process in 1-2 business days.

Something to keep in mind is that you only need to submit the revised file. For example, if you updated your cover but not the interior, you only need to submit a new cover file for review.

The entire file needs to be submitted for a revision. If you only submit the updated pages or corrected area, your title’s page count and/or printing will be incorrect. We print what you provide, and your book will not print correctly if the entire file is not submitted.

Also, remember that if your page count increases or decreases by more than four pages, a new cover file may need to be submitted. This is because your spine width may change due to the page count alteration. The best way to determine if you need a new cover file is by using our Weight and Spine Width Calculator

You may use this helpful tool to compare your spine width before and after the page count change. If the spine width changes, a new cover file is needed.

If your files are print ready, you will receive an eProof to approve on your account, and you will also receive an email with a link to the eProof. Approving the eProof allows you to enable your title for distribution (if applicable) and allows your title to be available for printing.

Revision Fees

There is a $40.00 file revision fee per file. If your title is on waitspecs (in the Waiting for Customer Specifications status), there is no revision fee.
